Deputy Head (Academic and Innovation)

The King's Foundation, Worcester, is seeking an exceptional individual to join its Foundation Leadership Team as Deputy Head (Academic and Innovation) for King's Senior School.


Responsibilities

* Academic Leadership (Senior School): responsible for high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, curriculum coherence, academic outcomes and the leadership of academic departments.
* Innovation and Digital Strategy for Teaching and Learning (Foundation-wide): provide strategic leadership for digital transformation, innovation, AI integration and digital change management across the Foundation. Chair the redesigned Digital Strategy structure, embed the recent ICT review’s recommendations and ensure all digital development directly supports teaching and learning effectiveness.
* Act as the bridge between educational vision, classroom needs and digital capability, ensuring the Foundation’s digital infrastructure, systems and pedagogical approaches are fit for purpose, future‑focused and fully aligned with the strategic plan.
* Work with senior leadership to promote a culture of excellence, inclusivity and mutual respect, and support the welfare and development of pupils in an independent day school.
* Manage a start date of September 2026 or January 2027.


Qualifications

* Highly motivated, experienced and dynamic individual with a deep commitment to pupil welfare and development.
* Relevant experience gained from settings throughout the education sector, ideally with senior academic leadership responsibilities.
* Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, with a proven track record of driving academic and digital initiatives.
* Ability to work collaboratively with senior management, teachers, and external partners.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and willingness to undergo relevant child protection screening.
