Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Year 5 Class Teacher to cover Maternity Leave in one of our inspirational Primary Schools in Alnwick on a full-time basis from April until the end of the Academic Year. About the Role: - The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative Year 5 lessons that inspire pupils and allows all pupils to make progress regardless of their ability levels. - Stretching and challenging the learning and progress all pupils - Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments. - Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner - Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils. - Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress - Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children. - Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience About the School: - The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Alnwick. - The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils. Pay, Hours and Contract: - Pay - Between £130-200 per day - Hours - 08.30-16.00 - Contract - Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract. - Start Date - 3rd April 2026 - Location - Alnwick Experience/Qualifications and Requirements: - An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you) - QTS and Primary School Teaching experience within the UK. - Previous experience of Teaching Year 5 Class (desirable) - Experience of short, medium and long-term planning - Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress - Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum - Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport - Experience of Teaching within the UK - Strong organisation and communication skills About Prospero: - Prospero Teaching is a Supply Agency that has branches across the world.
