Role Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer for our Analytics Tech engineering group. The role focuses on building experimental computer vision pipelines to enhance underwriting analysis, working closely with data science and engineering teams to train model pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Work on complex business problems, delivering high‑quality software that provides an outstanding customer experience.
* Contribute to architecture or design decisions with support from senior team members.
* Write clean code, adhering to team standards and improving coding practices.
* Own, scope, and deliver well‑defined deliverables or stories; communicate progress at stand‑ups or similar agile events.
* Mentor and guide junior team members to deliver well‑defined features, functions or components.
* Collaborate closely and cooperatively with technical and non‑technical teams to deliver value to the customer.
* Implement automated unit and integration tests, and apply security processes such as threat modelling.
* Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines; lead code reviews and review pull requests.
* Grow knowledge of architecture, modern engineering principles and design patterns.
* Assess business value of new technologies and implement them into the development life cycle.
* Share learnings via internal tech talks, blogging and external events.
Required Experience & Skills
* Experience packaging and deploying Hugging Face models as containerised APIs (FastAPI) on a managed Kubernetes service.
* Ensuring GPU compatibility and memory provisioning for large models.
* Experience with containerisation, CUDA/NVIDIA drivers, dependency management and EC2/GPU instance workflows.
* Previous ability integrating with existing labeling workflows.
Desired Experience & Skills
* Experience developing cloud‑native solutions, ideally using AWS.
* Experience working with GPU resources is an advantage.
