Senior Electronics Engineer Norwich area, Norfolk (Hybrid working)
c.£65k+ (flexible) + benefits
This role requires an experienced electronics engineer who enjoys working in small, agile product development environments. The role would suit a generalist with experience of analogue and digital hardware design as well as power electronics.
Other than supporting ongoing product development you will be involved with design analysis (e.g. reliability, FMEA) as well as supporting EMC and documentation ahead of certification / approvals.
The Opportunity – Senior Electronics design Engineer
This role offers the chance to join a growing technology company developing electronic systems for electric vehicles and industrial applications. You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and validating robust electronic control hardware that meets demanding automotive standards.
You’ll work across the full lifecycle — from concept and schematic capture through circuit analysis, simulation, prototype validation and supporting products into production (NPI). In addition, you will provide documentation and product analysis (e.g. FMEA) in support of product certification, etc.
Experience / Knowledge required: Senior Electronics Design Engineer
* Excellent academic background (degree or master’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or similar)
* Strong analogue and digital circuit design experience — ideally with microprocessor or microcontroller-based systems (e.g. NXP or similar)
* Experience of power electronics design (ideally DCDC converters or inverters for automotive applications or similar))
* Confident using tools for schematic capture, PCB layout and circuit simulation (e.g. Altium, LTspice, etc.)
* Good understanding of electronics for automotive or rugged environments — vibration, thermal, EMC, ingress protection, etc.
* Able to take designs from concept through validation and into production including documentation and FMEA support.
* Strong practical engineering skills and experience developing and testing electronics hardware in lab or vehicle settings
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills — comfortable in a customer-focused, fast-moving engineering environment
Beneficial experience: Senior Electronics design Engineer
* Automotive ECU or control electronics development (e.g. powertrain / electric drive unit (EDU), body control modules, brakes, engine management or chassis systems)
* Exposure to design-for-manufacture (DFM) and validation testing processes
You’ll join a business that values technical excellence and gives engineers the freedom to make a real impact. This is a great opportunity to develop innovative, production-ready electronics for a variety of customers across multiple sectors (e.g. 2 and 3 wheeled automotive EVs, off-highway vehicles, industrial drives / control, etc)
This senior electronics design role is commutable from Norwich, Thetford, King’s Lynn, Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth, and Lowestoft (under an hour). Some occasional hybrid working is OK.
