Overview

The division of Surgery and Cancer invites applicants for a permanent Band 3 post to join the medical secretary team within the ENT department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The post holder will support named clinicians and their colleagues to provide efficient support to all members of the clinical teams.


Responsibilities

* Support named clinicians and colleagues to provide efficient administrative support to the clinical teams.
* Manage robust systems for the administrative engagement of patient pathways.
* Produce clinical correspondence using Medisec digital transcription software from outpatient and inpatient attendances.
* Work flexibly as part of the team, sometimes across sites.


Qualifications

* Experience in using the PTL (Patient Tracker List) to manage patient pathways is desirable, with a knowledge of medical terminology.
* Previous experience of working in a clerical/secretarial role is essential.
* Ability to display tact and diplomacy and to communicate effectively with senior staff, patients, colleagues and the general public.
