The Engineer I will perform engineering analysis assignments involving smaller, less complex projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager. These projects require the ability to apply conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering and demonstrate the ability to gain, retain and illustrate comprehension of additional knowledge shared by more senior engineers as part of a project team.
What You Will Do:
* Performs engineering review and analysis assignments under supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager
o Applies conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering.
o Review project plans to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work.
o Prepare draft written documents, reports and presentations for review by an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
o Develop an understanding of the technical requirements and challenges and provide suggested opportunities of the company to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day job tasks.
o Participate in client and team meetings as required.
o Track and accurately report hours spent on projects.
o Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
o Perform Quality Assurance on project deliverables.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
* Entry level, work experience preferred.
* Must have a BEng. degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or other related disciplines; MEng/MSc. may be preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of related technical disciplines required.
* The ability to identify, analyze and propose solutions to technical problems (i.e., the competence to demonstrate complex problem-solving skills).
* Good command of the English language.
* Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
* Ability to work well with others.
* Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
Reporting Relationships:
* The incumbent will report to a senior-level engineer or technical manager. This position has no direct reports.
