Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Civil Site Manager on a 3 month rolling contract based in Cambridgeshire.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Site Manager to oversee and deliver all civil engineering aspects on a site in Cambridgeshire. The role involves managing day-to-day civil works, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion of all activities in line with UKPN standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all site civil works, including excavation, ducting, trenching, concrete works, foundations, reinstatement, and associated infrastructure.
* Ensure all works comply with UKPN specifications, DNO standards, and HSE legislation.
* Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring high standards of safety, workmanship, and productivity.
* Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and ensure that all RAMS are reviewed and implemented effectively.
* Liaise with UKPN representatives, project engineers, and local authorities as required.
* Monitor progress against programme, managing resources and resolving site issues proactively.
* Maintain accurate site records including permits, inspection reports, material deliveries, and progress updates.
* Coordinate with the electrical teams to ensure civils interfaces are delivered seamlessly.
* Ensure environmental and quality management standards are maintained at all times.
* Report regularly to the Project Manager on site progress, risks, and issues.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Site Manager / Civils Supervisor within the power, utilities, or infrastructure sector.
* UKPN Substation entry (essential)
* Strong knowledge of civil engineering works and construction methodologies.
* Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
* CSCS card (Gold/Black preferred).
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple site activities simultaneously.
Desirable Skills
* Experience managing subcontractors on UKPN-authorised works.
* Understanding of electrical and civil interface requirements.
* Competence in using MS Office, site reporting tools, and document management systems.
* UKPN Authorisations (if held, please specify level).
