You’ll play a key role in managing and evolving cloud architecture, working in a collaborative engineering environment with data and software teams. This role goes beyond typical operations — it’s about leading cloud strategy, infrastructure-as-code, security automation, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you'll take the lead in provisioning and managing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) resources, implementing best-in-class infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, and shaping the entire cloud environment to meet growing demands.
You’ll manage network architecture (including Tailscale VPN), build automated CI/CD security checks, support capacity planning, and ensure compliance with ISO-27001. This role also involves enabling other teams through shared tooling, mentoring, and documentation — multiplying engineering productivity and improving system reliability across the board.
With a strong focus on automation, security, and cloud efficiency, this role offers the opportunity to shape a scalable infrastructure strategy while contributing directly to real-world sustainability outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provision, configure, and manage GCP resources using Terraform and other IaC tools.

Design and maintain secure network infrastructure and VPN configurations.

Lead the development of automated CI/CD security and compliance workflows.
*
Monitor system health, optimise for cost and performance, and support auto-scaling strategies.

Plan for cloud capacity, disaster recovery, and maintain infrastructure SLOs.
*
Mentor development teams on infrastructure best practices and standardise cloud tooling.
*
Champion a DevOps culture and drive continuous improvement across the cloud stack.
Key Skills & Experience
Cloud Infrastructure
*
Significant experience managing GCP environments at scale.
*
Strong Infrastructure-as-Code expertise (Terraform essential).
*
Proven experience with cloud security, access controls, and compliance frameworks such as ISO-27001.
*
Familiarity with cloud networking, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
*
AWS / Azure
DevOps & Automation
*
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and cloud operations.
*
Experience with monitoring and alerting platforms (e.g., Datadog, Grafana).
*
Understanding of cost optimisation, resource tagging, and forecasting.
*
Scripting abilities for cloud automation and configuration.
