What the Senior Payroll job involves
This payroll job in Beverley will see you managing a busy and varied workload, handling all aspects of payroll from start to finish.
You’ll work closely with a small and friendly team and directly support a range of clients across sectors.
Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for circa 300 clients
Managing starters, leavers, and employee amendments accurately and on time
Handling statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP) and deductions
Completing RTI submissions and ensuring full HMRC compliance
Overseeing Auto Enrolment and pension contributions
Liaising with clients, resolving queries, and providing payroll advice
Staying up to date with current payroll legislation and best practices
Supporting the onboarding of new clients and payroll software transitions

Skills and Experience Required
Proven payroll experience, ideally within a practice or payroll bureau, but not essential
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory processes
Proficiency with payroll software such as Sage Payroll, BrightPay, Xero or similar
High attention to detail and a methodical approach
A confident, proactive attitude and excellent communication skills
The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
A team player who also thrives when working independently
Other information
Full-time Monday to Friday, however part-time or flexible hours may be considered (4 days or 5 short days)
Based in Beverley with on-site car parking
