Consultant in Orthodontics – Dumfries & Galloway
We are pleased to invite applications for the post of Consultant in Orthodontics, working 24 hours per week (6 sessions per week). This substantive post is primarily based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI), with occasional clinical commitments at the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer.
Salary: £111,430 – £148,064
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and advisory service for patients referred to the Orthodontic Department at DGRI. The role will focus particularly on the interdisciplinary management of dentofacial/craniofacial conditions and hypodontia cases, working closely with colleagues across specialties to deliver high‑quality patient care.
As a member of the Consultant team, the postholder will support the professional supervision and development of Training Grade staff and contribute to the effective functioning of the department.
Leadership & Network
An established Managed Clinical Network (MCN) in Orthodontics operates across Dumfries and Galloway. The appointed Consultant is anticipated to assume the role of Clinical Lead for the MCN.
Qualifications
Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and included on the Specialist Register for Orthodontics, or be eligible for inclusion within six months of interview.
