This role is ideal for a multi-skilled engineer who enjoys a varied position involving travel, technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and hands-on engineering work.
Key Responsibilities for Junior Field Service Engineer Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and repair of electro-mechanical equipment.
Provide reactive and planned maintenance support across a range of customer sites around the UK and occasionally abroad Diagnose faults and perform repairs on electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
Undertake strip-down, rebuild, and testing of equipment within the workshop.
Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and job records.
Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad as required.
Experience & Skills Required for Junior Field Service Engineer Completed apprenticeship or equivalent An interest in working on electrical/electronic systems Basic mechanical aptitude with ideally some experience in strip-down and rebuild Ability to interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
An ambition to learn and develop lots of training will be provided An understanding of engineering principles and a root cause analysis mindset Flexible approach to working hours, travel, and varying job demands.
Good communication skills and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
Competent IT skills for reporting, documentation, and communication.
A valid UK driving licence and passport.
NVQ Level 3 in electronics or mechanical.
