Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures.
Execute commissioning activities across electrical, control, and instrumentation (EC&I) systems.
Carry out testing, fault-finding, and system validation in line with approved procedures.
Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and project requirements at all times.
Operate within Safe Systems of Work, including permits, risk assessments, and method statements.
Support coordination of site activities with contractors, suppliers, and other disciplines.
Identify, report, and help resolve commissioning issues and defects.
Accurately record test results, produce commissioning documentation, and support handover packs.
Contribute to continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.
Actively promote a strong nuclear safety and behavioural safety culture.
Qualifications
Degree-qualified Engineer or equivalent experience in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I), Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related discipline.
Essential skills
Strong understanding of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control / automation principles.
Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams and follow technical direction.
Understanding of safety compliance and regulated working practices.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).
Experience
Proven ability to lead commissioning activities and influence stakeholders.
Understanding of nuclear safety culture and compliance.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent; Membership of an Engineering Institution.
Experience on AWE sites or high-hazard commissioning.
Experience engaging with regulators or assurance teams.
Experience commissioning EC&I systems in regulated, industrial, or safety-critical environments.
What do I need before I apply
Active SC clearance or willingness to obtain SC clearance to carry out the role.
Please note that this contract invloves working 11-day fortnight, which comprises of 12-hour shifts (assumption is 66hr week)
Onsite full time (Burghfield, Berkshire)
