We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated commissioner to join our Commissioning and Contracts Team within Children and Family Services. In this pivotal role, you will lead the commissioning and contract management of a diverse portfolio of external providers delivering essential services for vulnerable children and young people. You will also oversee and drive the team's quality audit programme, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement across all commissioned services.
We are looking for an individual with strong personal drive, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. To succeed, you must bring substantial experience in commissioning and contract management, alongside a thorough understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Knowledge of customer care principles, procurement, budgeting, and data analysis is essential.
The post holder will focus primarily on short breaks and specialist education services, so experience in these areas is particularly valuable. Key responsibilities include leading new commissioning and recommissioning activity, developing robust service specifications, and delivering an annual programme of contract reviews to support service improvement and innovation.
This is a countywide role with a hybrid working model. The main base is Sherwood Energy Village in Ollerton, with an expectation of regular weekly office attendance, combined with home-working and travel to other Council sites as required. Applicants must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
