Job Summary The Goods In Operator is responsible for receiving, checking, and processing all incoming deliveries to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with company procedures. The role also includes loading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently in line with company standards and schedules. This position plays a key part in maintaining accurate stock levels and supporting smooth warehouse and distribution operations. Key Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming deliveries safely and efficiently Check deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes Inspect goods for damage, defects, or discrepancies Accurately record received goods using OGL Label, store, and allocate stock to designated locations Load delivery vehicles in a safe, secure, and timely manner Ensure correct goods are picked and loaded according to dispatch documentation Report shortages, damages, or incorrect items to the supervisor Maintain accurate inventory records Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks or forklifts Follow health & safety procedures at all times Maintain a clean and organised goods-in area Assist with stock counts and audits as required Skills & Experience Essential: Good attention to detail Basic IT skills (data entry, stock systems) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills Physically fit and able to lift heavy items safely Desirable: Previous warehouse or goods-in experience (preferred but not essential) Forklift licence (Counterbalance/Reach) Experience using OGL Knowledge of stock control processes Personal Attributes Reliable and punctual Organised and methodical Proactive and able to identify issues Safety-conscious Schedule Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30am Alternate Saturdays Benefits Company pension Life Assurance Cycle to work scheme Employee discount Enhanced maternity leave Enhanced paternity leave Health & wellbeing programme 23 days holiday plus bank holidays (increase to 25 after 12 months)
