You will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers to provide legal advice on issues including Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT construction Contracts, and general contract queries. You will manage a demanding caseload.
Senior Lawyers are expected to participate actively in team management, deputise for the Principal Solicitor, and contribute to delivering high-quality legal services.
If you are effective, dynamic, and have experience in managing and supervising teams, we want to hear from you!
Shortlisting Criteria
Applicants must demonstrate:
* Being a Solicitor, barrister, or Fellow of CILEX, eligible to practice in England and Wales with a current practicing certificate
* Experience in negotiating and drafting construction contracts, service agreements, and facilities management services
* Ability to provide solutions-focused advice and learn quickly about new subjects
* Effective teamwork and managing priorities to meet statutory deadlines
* Leadership and organizational skills in client and project meetings

You will contribute to the wider management of Legal Services, exemplify the council's values, and manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
You will also support the council's aim to reduce reliance on external legal support and may be required to undertake advocacy.
