Salary: £25,000 to £28,000

About Our Nursery
We are recruiting for an Early Years Practitioner to join our thriving nursery, looking after children from 2 to 4 years. The successful practitioner will share our belief that the early years are formative and experiences now can shape a child’s future. We aim that children feel valued and grow in self-confidence and independence. We are expanding and looking for passionate staff to join the journey. Who are we looking for?
If you can demonstrate the following, we would welcome your application:
* Level 3 qualified in Early Years
* Experience of working with children aged 2, with flexibility to work with 3 and 4-year-olds
* Ability to inspire pupils with enthusiasm and a love of learning
* Sound knowledge of the Early Years curriculum
* Ability to plan and prepare engaging and stimulating activities for children of all abilities
* Ability to positively impact pupils in education and pastoral care
* Encourage learning and development through play and teaching
* Create a secure environment using imagination to help children learn
* Ability to work with parents and carers to support their children
* Help children build literacy, language and numeracy skills
* Monitor progress to inform planning
* Prepare activities to keep children engaged throughout the day

Principal Responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES:
* Promote and safeguard the welfare of children you are responsible for
* Foster warm, nurturing relationships with the children
* Provide support as directed by the Head of Nursery and engage with children during play and learning
* Support education and development under guidance, planning and implementing work with individuals or groups
* Follow procedures and protocols in handbooks
* Lead sessions for small groups as directed
* Undertake playground and lunchtime duties
* Assist with classroom displays and maintain an orderly learning environment
* Be a point of contact with parents and carers
* Undertake minor first aid duties
* Assist with general supervision of children
* Undertake CPD as needed to improve performance
Other Responsibilities
* Support smooth running of the Pre-Prep department
* Undertake other reasonable duties as required, including occasional out-of-hours work

* Adhere to policies in the staff handbook
* Maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance and conduct
Qualifications
* A full Level 3 or higher qualification to work with EYFS
* Safeguarding training and awareness
* First Aid or Paediatric First Aid (desirable but not essential)
* Record of continuing professional development (CPD)
* Interest in outdoor learning is a plus
Experience
* Recent experience of working with young children aged 2 is essential
* Experience in EYFS is essential
