Librarian
As a librarian you would play a key role in supporting the community by helping users access books, digital resources, and information services, while actively promoting literacy and lifelong learning through events and outreach. You would also be responsible for managing library collections, assisting with digital technology, and supporting access to Council services.

About the Role:
1. Contribute to the development of library programmes and initiatives, particularly around children’s activities.
2. Provide excellent customer service to library users of all ages.
3. Support access to books, digital resources, and Council services.
4. Promote literacy and lifelong learning through events, outreach, and partnerships.
5. Manage and maintain library collections and resources.
6. Assist users with digital technology and information literacy.
7. Deputize for the Library Manager and Senior Library Assistant as required.

About you:
The ideal candidate will be passionate about libraries and community engagement with effective communication and organisational skills. You will be confident using digital tools and supporting others in their use. Flexibility is key, as you may be required to work outside normal working hours.
Applicants should ideally hold a recognised librarian qualification and must demonstrate experience working in a public library setting.
