Senior Associate to Counsel | Dispute Resolution & Advocacy | BVI
This role will appeal to an experienced advocate seeking a senior position with genuine courtroom exposure and the opportunity to shape a growing disputes practice in the British Virgin Islands.
Working closely with partners and sophisticated international clients, the position centres on high‑stakes contentious work with a strong chancery and commercial chancery focus. The practice is regularly engaged on complex company, insolvency, trusts and commercial disputes, offering frequent court appearances alongside substantial advisory and drafting responsibilities. Senior lawyers are trusted with meaningful autonomy while remaining closely supported within a collegiate team.
Responsibilities
* Appear in court, lead on written and oral advocacy, and provide technically robust advice directly to clients.
* Contribute to client development.
* Manage financial aspects of matters.
* Support the development of junior team members through supervision and mentoring.
Qualifications
* Barristers qualified in England and Wales with at least six years’ call.
* Strong background in chancery or commercial chancery work.
* Excellent advocacy skills and strong academics.
* Ability to operate collaboratively within an offshore practice.
* Sound judgment and proactive approach to client and practice development.
