The Operations Manager oversees the financial and operational success of B&M Care Homes, supporting managers to maximise occupancy, maintain compliance, and uphold quality standards. The role also develops future leaders through training, provides direct operational support when needed, and ensures all homes deliver outstanding care aligned with company values. Main Purpose of the Job: The Operations Manager will be primarily responsible for the continuous financial growth of the company and the successful operation of the Company's care homes. Supporting and optimising the successful operation of all the Company's care homes. Involvement in heading up the Company's Management Pathways scheme and the ability to function in an educational//training and development role for the success of future B&M Care Home Managers. Duties and Responsibilities will include: Supporting home managers to maximise occupancy, maximising profits and control costs to budgets. Working and supporting Director of Governance with robust monitoring of homes audits, PCS, Radar and inspections To assist where required with supporting and optimising the successful operation of all the Company's Care Homes. To manage a care home, during a managers period of absence. To be supportive in new care homes as required, working alongside the Home Manager to optimise the successful operation. To ensure that all homes are working in line with the Company's quality management system. To be involved as required in heading up the Company's Management Pathways scheme and the ability to function in an educational//training and development role for the success of future B&M Care home Managers. To assist Managers in resolving problem situations in their home's. To assist in the induction and development of senior members of a home's management team. Communicate effectively with Managers to achieve the objectives of the business by support and guidance. Support Managers to be inspiring leaders To monitor and measure standards in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. Manage and deliver quality audit reports. To work alongside the Director of Governance and carry out home inspections. To work alongside the Director of Care and carry out home inspections. To hold Home Managers to account on measurable outcomes To report to the Board regularly regarding their homes' performance, and actions they are undertaking to improve this To instigate performance management processes with Home Managers who fail to meet their expected outcomes. Ensure information is accurate and up to date by maintaining awareness and information. Work closely with Regulators/Health Professionals to achieve the best outcomes for the Company. Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to for the continuing success of the business. To work closely with the Senior Management Team at Head Office. To travel to any of the Company's homes as required. Any other duties/responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Company Chief Operations Officer. Skills, Characteristics and Experience Essential To be business minded and maintain a professional attitude to work at all times. Understanding the BCC model, within the organisation. BusinessCare Compliance The ability to support home managers, to succeed. NVQ Level 5 or Registered Manager Award (RMA) or equivalent Effective communication with all levels of staff.
