Our services include:Delivery of city-wide and region-wide emission reduction programmesDevelopment and delivery of Net Zero programmes for individual building operators to major and multi-location estatesAssessment of energy use and identification of energy savingsWe are seeking experienced and highly motivated Net Zero and sustainability professional to fulfil the role of Senior Consultant in our Real Estate sustainability team, a friendly and fast-growing team of sustainability consultants that supports clients with their transition to low-carbon, sustainable future models.If you have experience in Real Estate sustainability / Net Zero, are a big thinker with a bias for action and have worked in or around Net Zero / sustainability projects and programmes then we want to talk to you.This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with high-profile clients from various sectors, while developing and delivering a broad range of sustainability services.You will join a talented team with real breadth to make a positive impact on society. We have a friendly team culture and strong support to help shape Turner & Townsend’s wider response to the climate and ecological emergencies.The successful candidate will deliver high-quality sustainability, Net Zero, energy efficiency consultancy advice. For this you’ll need experience and understanding of some or all of the following subject matters:Corporate net zero programmes and strategyCity or regional sustainability, net zero programmes and strategyAbility to scope retrofit projects and identify potential technical solutions, including a costed decarbonisation roadmap for building assets and estatesAbility to review, analyse and benchmark energy performance in the built environment;Low carbon & sustainable design & certification for new constructionKnowledge of embodied or whole life carbon calculation or strategy on refurbishment and new build projectsClimate risk assessment and / or climate resilience strategyProgramme and project management and leadership, including managing budgets and project teamsCommission management including defining scope with the client and quality control of deliverables and outputsExperience of service and business development including preparing proposalsUnderstanding of the Climate and decarbonisation policy landscape in Scotland.Suitably qualified in a related subject or appropriate industry experience;Client and stakeholder relationship management experience;Relevant chartership or professional membership (e.g. CIBSE, IEMA, IEE) EPC, ESOS and DEC certified (desirable);Experience in conducting building energy audits to an approved standard (desirable);Good understanding of low and zero carbon technologies and strategies to reduce emissions in buildings (e.g. Renewable energy, heat pumps and fabric measures)Understanding of public sector procurement regulations and climate change policy applied to Scotland (desirable);Competent user of data management software (Excel at least but other skills beneficial) and systems for data cleansing, management, analytics, and quality assurance;Demonstrably excellent analytic and communication skills - we believe in the use of quality data to drive objective decision making;Knowledge of SBTI and GHG Protocol (how to collate organisational scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions) is usefulAttention to detail in service delivery, communications, and working with others;Good commercial awareness including the ability to articulate business decisions within the wider context and market trends – our clients are spending £millions and trust us to get the best possible returns for such investment.Responsibilities and behavioursAs a member of Turner & Townsend’s Sustainability team you are:A cooperative team member supporting team members in the successful delivery of projects;Capable of independently completing tasks and activities and taking responsibility for your own time management and ability to work towards overall project timescales and potentially tight deadlines;Expected to support business generation activities where required, such as bid writing and developing proposals;Capable of building strong, professional client relationships and identifying and resolving client’s issues;Able to analyse information quickly and efficiently, choose or recommend from a range of options and make decisions where the parameters are unclear and judgement needs to be exercised;Aside from accepting personal responsibility for the quality and commercial delivery aspects of your work you will be expected to develop skills and share knowledge within the whole consulting practice; andWell organised and methodical, with good attention to detail.Able to manage commissions, including client liaison, team resource management and budget managementIn time, line managing junior consultants and playing a key role in their professional development and facilitating them to deliver excellent workOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
