We have an exciting opportunity for a Larger Works Officer to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring that significant repairs, property adaptions and damp and mould remediation across our housing stock are delivered to the highest standards!
The Role
This position is central to maintaining safe, sustainable homes and improving the living conditions of our residents, in line with the organisation’s values and objectives. By combining technical expertise with a strong customer focus, the role ensures that every solution is practical, cost effective and compliant with regulatory requirements.
You will:
Ensure excellent customer satisfaction is achieved at all times by maintaining timely and informative communication with customers
Take full responsibility for all referred larger repairs
Effectively diagnose and schedule repairs both internally and externally to our housing stock, providing resolutions and giving technical guidance where required
Work closely with Customer Liaison officers to undertake pre and post quality inspections of all works, ensuring customer handover and sign off
Work collaboratively with other bdht teams to effectively deliver larger repairs and damp and condensation works.
Liaise with the Building Surveyors and asset management regarding element & component replacements
Update our housing management system with timely and accurate information regarding repairs delivery and customer communication
About you
We are looking for an experience and qualified construction professional who has / is:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the construction industry, preferably from a recognised trade background
An excellent communicator, and ensure that customer satisfaction is regarded as their highest priority
Proficient in the use of basic IT systems
Experience of working within the Residential Social Landlord Sector (Desirable)
HNC/HND minimum in Building Construction or similar recognised qualification (Desirable)
