An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced registered nurse (child) to join the Paediatric Stem Cell Transplant team at Leeds General Infirmary as a Clinical Nurse Specialist on a 1-year fixed term contract/secondment. The post will involve working on the in‑patient transplant unit and outpatients, supporting the child and family throughout the allogeneic stem cell transplant pathway, providing expert clinical care, coordination and education. The role includes managing a caseload, providing expert care and support to the patients and families through the transplant process, supporting the development of education for staff and families, contributing to audit, quality improvement, service development and delivery of key performance indicators. The role will involve multidisciplinary collaboration and excellent communication skills.
This is a dynamic role within a highly specialised service, ideal for a nurse with specialist clinical knowledge and skills, excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. Some experience of implementing changes within services would be beneficial.

Responsibilities
The jobholder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload, assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, and setting standards of care. The jobholder provides specialist nursing care and treatment to a specific patient group, contributing to the development of the speciality service, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources, and supporting interdisciplinary and whole‑service working. As a role model, the jobholder promotes the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care, and provides training and education to staff groups, patients and families/carers.

 * Current issues in healthcare
 * Significant and recent relevant experience working as a Band 5 Staff Nurse or equivalent, post‑registration experience within speciality
 * Audit & standard setting

 * Experience of clinical audit and standard setting
 * Service development and/or change management
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
 * Registered Nurse (RN Child for children's areas, Level 1 or 2)
 * Recognised teaching/assessing qualification or equivalent experience of teaching and assessment
 * Evidence of continued professional development
 * Willingness to undergo training as necessary
Desirable Qualifications
 * Post‑registration qualification in specialty
 * Degree level education or evidence of working towards
 * Nurse prescribing qualification
