We are seeking dedicated Maternity Support Workers (MSWs) to provide high‑quality care for mothers, birthing people, and babies. Your role includes breastfeeding support, administrative tasks, postnatal care and delivery of a safe quality service, ensuring The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is the preferred place of birth as well as the preferred place of employment.
Main Duties
* Provide direct care to women, birthing people and families under the guidance of registered practitioners.
* Assist with assessments of healthcare needs and execute delegated responsibilities from the midwife.
* Execute routine care tasks for women, birthing people and babies following appropriate training.
Band 3 Role Conditions
* Successfully complete the care certification within the six month probationary period, during which you will be paid Band 2.
* Provide a copy of your completed care certificate reviewed during recruitment, meeting the accepted standard.
* Upon successful completion of certification and the probationary period you will be promoted to NHS AFC Band 3.
* Failure to complete certification within this timeframe may result in termination of employment.

Qualifications
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience.
Experience
* Clinical experience working within health or social care settings.
