Job Description: Residential Care Worker

We are looking for enthusiastic residential care workers to join our team, building strong relationships and fostering a warm, supportive, and rewarding environment for the children and young people in our care. No two days are the same in this dynamic and fulfilling role! From planning engaging activities and providing one-on-one support to accompanying young people on off-site trips, each day presents new challenges and opportunities.
As a residential care worker, you'll need to be adaptable, flexible, and skilled at reading situations to help guide young people towards making positive choices. Experience is preferred but not necessary; if you have a positive, can-do attitude and the passion to make a real difference, this is the perfect role for you!
Responsibilities:
1. Providing emotional support during challenging times
2. Fostering ambition in young people, helping them achieve their goals and maximize their potential
3. Supporting the educational pursuits of young individuals
4. Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for meetings
5. Empowering young people to participate in decision-making about their lives
6. Acting as an advocate in meetings involving young people
7. Encouraging community engagement and attending off-site activities
8. Meeting the needs of children and young people, organizing social activities, and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping)
Requirements:
* Minimum age: 21 years old
* Full UK driving license preferred but not essential
* No prior experience necessary; a commitment and passion for working with young people are essential
* Availability for sleep-in shifts
Benefits:
* £12.69 - £13.31 per hour (dependent on experience) plus an additional £30 per sleep-in shift
* A full two-week paid training program before starting
* Overtime rate of 1.25x
* Shift patterns of 2-3 shifts per week, with a work/life balance
