Rail Planner
Location: Ferrybridge Operations Centre
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner to join a busy rail operations and planning team based at the Ferrybridge Operations Centre. This role plays a key part in delivering safe, efficient, and commercially effective train plans in line with industry standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planning workloads efficiently and effectively in compliance with Network Code and wider industry planning processes
* Work collaboratively within the planning team to ensure the weekly train plan is delivered accurately and on time
* Liaise with relevant industry stakeholders and contacts as required
* Produce train plans that maximise operational efficiency and profitability while meeting customer and service requirements
* Ensure all plans and diagrams are compliant with internal standards and industry criteria
Skills & Experience Required
* Good knowledge of freight train operations and a sound understanding of railway geography
* Strong planning and organisational skills
* Ability to produce clear and compliant operational diagrams for frontline staff
* Good IT skills, including experience with:
* Voyagerplan (or similar train planning software)
* TOPS / TRUST
* Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

The role will involve occasional travel and may require overnight stays away from home.
