A market-leading communications provider, our client is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader for their management team in London.
The Role:
The appointed Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for implementing and maintaining engineering standards within the engineering department, including engineering task management, on-site inspections of installation work, prioritising bench commitments and deputising for the Engineering Manager as required.
This role will also include:
* Providing technical leadership in the design and optimisation of PMR, DMR, TETRA and some cellular networks to all the Field and Bench Engineers falling under HQ.
* Strong organizational andadministrationalskills as you will be responsible for the daily routine and diary for both Field and Bench Engineers
* Lead/Chief engineering responsibilities
* Contribute in design, implementation and on-going review of all engineering policies
* Collaborate with the other Chief Engineers to determine best practice
* Prioritise tasks appropriately in line with the strategy and direction from Engineering Manager
* Uphold engineering standards across the department; including site visits, system inspections and document reviews
* Ongoing training and development of the engineering department
* Support tender submissions; to include technical input, engineering planning and customer meetings
* Reporting and efficiency analysis of electronic time sheet management for the company’s engineers
* Cover for the other Chief Engineers as required
* Deputise for the Engineering Manager as required
The Candidate:
* Minimum 4 years’ related experience with commercial Radio communications whether with a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or end-user.
* Minimum 4 years’ experience as Senior/Lead/Chief Radio Engineer
* Understanding of RF theory and basic electronics to the component level
* Continue with being technical and hands on within the engineering team but have some track record of providing supervision to engineers.
* Proficient in the use of a communications analyser, electrical circuit trouble-shooting and operation of test equipment
* Excellent ability to prioritise tasks, make quick distinctive decisions and be self-sufficient
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills is a must
