Responsibility Profile:
1. Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs.
2. Relay information such as work orders or other messages to and from drivers and driving assistants.
3. Use telephones, two-way radios or text messages to contact employees.
4. Speak with supervisors or customers to resolve problems, requests for services or equipment.
5. Prepare daily work such as schedules.
6. Prepare work orders for crew or receiving work orders from work crews.
7. Facilitate communications within company assigned territories.
8. Keep and organize work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records and other information.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
10. One (1) year of transportation experience.
11. High School diploma.
Desired Minimum Qualifications:
12. Valid Driver’s License
13. Previous dispatch experience preferred
14. Previous Customer Service experience preferred
15. Must Pass a DOT Physical and Drug Test
16. Experience with Via Scheduling Software a Plus
17. Knowledge of service area a plus
18. Stress-tolerant nature necessary to consistently, calmly and effectively responding to demanding, crisis and emergent situations while maintaining self-control and composure
19. Flexibility and adaptability to change and considerable variability in both the nature and volume of work
20. Effective and appropriate communication skills
