Currently, we are experiencing a surge in engineering and design workload in the water sector and are actively recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to support AMP8 for clients including United Utilities, Severn Trent Water, Southern Water, Thames Water, and Northumbrian Water. As a Senior Process Engineer, you will provide strategic support for our frameworks to define and shape water projects and programmes, manage the execution of asset optimisation projects, and lead teams to propose, develop, and define process optimisation solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead teams to execute optimisation studies, with accountability for quality, budget, and schedule.
* Develop process optimisation initiatives and solutions at both site and programme levels.
* Provide technical thought leadership and strategic consultancy advice to clients and joint venture partners.
* Collaborate with business development, work winning, and marketing teams to develop and tender new opportunities.
* Approve process design calculations, reports, presentations, and proposals.
* Grow our team capability and service to our AMP Frameworks.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in the design, operation, and optimisation of wastewater treatment plants.
* Knowledge of the UK water utility asset life cycle process.
* Project management experience.
* Background in an engineering consultancy or contracting design environment, as well as operational utility experience.
* Ability to independently drive teams and projects.
* Proactive, self-motivated, solutions-oriented.
* Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative, and able to influence senior colleagues.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of the UK Regulatory environment.
* Experience in the full project lifecycle: scoping, outline design, detailed design, construction support, commissioning, and handover.
* Proven background in process engineering definition, including development of mass balances, data analysis, design calculations, technology selection, major equipment and package datasheet specification, process flow diagrams, process control philosophies, and P&ID's.
* Excellent commercial awareness and business development skills.
Qualifications
* A degree in a process-related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer and member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., CIWEM, IChemE) preferred.
* Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
