Job: Minibus Driver Location: Bury Hours: 37 hours per week (split shift) Pay: 12.21 Per hour PAYE Inc Holiday | £15.66 LTD Per hour Umbrella About the Role We are recruiting for a dedicated Minibus Driver/Attendant to join a Local Authority Transport Services team working out of Bury. This is a rewarding front-line position supporting vulnerable service users, including individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and those who may require additional emotional or behavioural support. The role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, dignified and reliable transport for customers travelling to and from various establishments. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for: Safely transporting children, adults and older people with a range of mobility and support needs. Assisting passengers on and off the vehicle and providing practical and emotional support throughout their journey. Managing and calming challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere. Completing daily vehicle checks, maintaining cleanliness, and carrying out routine tasks such as topping up oil, fuel and water. Transporting wheelchairs, equipment, goods and staff safely. Communicating professionally with service users, carers, relatives, professionals and partner agencies. Maintaining accurate journey records and reporting incidents, hazards or changes in passenger behaviour. Operating hydraulic lifts and securing wheelchair users with the correct equipment. Acting as the “eyes and ears” while on duty to identify concerns and report them appropriately. Following all safeguarding, health & safety and confidentiality procedures.
