The continued professional development of our colleagues is important to us, so we provide access to a wide range of resources to build their expertise, skills and confidence. ​ The Role We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic legal intern who is keen to develop practical legal skills and gain insight into the work of an in-house legal function. This paid three-week internship programme, commencing on the 20 th of July 2026, will offer you the opportunity to work alongside our legal team on a variety of matters, providing exposure to the day-to-day issues that shape LPF’s responsibilities. You will have opportunities to build confidence in your legal research, analysis, and communication skills while seeing how legal advice contributes to good governance, informed decision‑making, sound investments and effective risk management. This internship provides a supportive environment to learn, collaborate, and take meaningful steps toward your future career in the legal profession. It will offer entry-level experience for applicants who may not have had prior exposure to a professional work environment. ​ The key responsibilities will be: Conducting legal research and assisting in drafting, reviewing and revising legal documents. Assisting with legal due diligence on investment and transactional work. Collaborating with in-house lawyers, business stakeholders and external law firms. Supporting the review and interpretation of relevant legislation and case law. Attending meetings and observing legal work supporting different business areas. ​ What qualifications/ experience are we looking for? The following requirements are essential for this role: Be in the penultimate year or later of an undergraduate LLB degree, including final year, Masters, or preparing for the Diploma in Legal Practice. On course for at least a 2:1 degree classification. A demonstrated interest in in-house legal work, financial services and/or the public sector. Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines effectively. Curiosity and motivation to apply academic learning in a practical environment.
