Role: Contract Electronics Technician
Location: Woking
Contract Length: 6 months
Rate: £22.00 per hour (Day Shift) / £24.00 per hour (Night Shift)
IR35: Outside IR35 – operate via your own PSC or umbrella
Hours: Monday to Friday, day or night shifts available
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Contract Electronics Technician to join an advanced engineering and manufacturing team based in Woking. This hands-on role involves supporting production and build activities within the electronics workshop, ensuring all manufacturing processes are followed to deliver high-quality products that meet exacting industry standards.
You’ll be working within a collaborative environment where attention to detail, process accuracy, and continuous improvement are at the heart of every project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out electronic and mechanical build and inspection activities during the manufacturing process.
• Assemble and modify components, including SMT (down to 0402) and through-hole parts.
• Follow predefined manufacturing and inspection procedures to ensure products meet Class 3 IPC standards.
• Maintain accurate build documentation and traceability records.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving zero defects.
• Support production teams and assist with low-volume, high-value electronic builds.
• Uphold all safety and quality standards in line with ISO9001 requirements.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as an Electronics Technician or Build Technician in a high-technology manufacturing environment.
• Strong soldering skills to Class 3 standards (IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-610, IPC-7711/7721).
• Experience in SMT rework and box build assembly.
• Good understanding of electronic manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Competent PC skills for documentation and traceability.
• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and quality assurance.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team.
