Tool Maker - Double Days
A recognised high volume manufacturer are currently looking to strengthen their Tooling department with the appointment of a Tool Maker.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Wariwckshire, the Tool Maker will be responsible for:
*Capable of interpreting engineering drawings successfully and in conjunction with Process Facilitator determining the most appropriate manufacture route for tooling and modifications.
*To be proficient in the use of all Toolroom machinery/equipment and trained in the safe use/fitting of grinding wheels required in the manufacture and repair of tooling, jigs, fixtures and special purpose equipment making the necessary dimensional adjustment as required.
*Capable of assembling/disassembling press tooling or any other type of tooling. Checking clearances, tolerances etc to drawing dimentions, making required adjustments to ensure satisfactory performance of the tooling in production use, including ‘proving’ tools/equipment in manufacture
*Capable of diagnosing faults in tooling identified by production teams and supported by inspection reports, producing appropriate corrective solutions.
*Capable of performing, or the ability to be trained to perform, ‘hard tool steel welding’
*Able to keep all areas and plant within Toolroom in a clean, tidy and safe condition and adhere to safe methods of working at all times.
*Able to assist in training of new employees/ apprentices/trainees where appropriate
*Capable of identifying any areas for improvement in productivity within the Toolroom
*Reporting of any shortages in consumables/equipment to Process Facilitators and/or Manager.
*Capable of liaising with sub-contractor in manufacturing and repairing of special tools/dies.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of an Apprenticeship and be familiar with Press Tooling processes.
