Here’s what you’ll do:
Managing the Design Process
1. Lead Design Management projects across the UK and Internationally.
2. Management of AECOM financial process and invoicing.
3. Review of work outputs from team prior to issue to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
Managing Sub-consultants
4. Prepare responsibility matrix to identify sub-consultant responsibility for each area of scope.
5. Draft and distribute sub-consultant back-to-back contracts so that all scope is accounted for.
6. Manage updates to sub-consultant contracts and prepare final documents.
7. Prepare and update cash flow projections.
8. Establish procedures for invoice submission for sub-consultants and monitor.
9. Track and report on the progress of all sub-consultant invoices and prepare a monthly Financial Report.
Establishment and Implementation of Design Management Procedures including:-
Roles and Responsibilities/Scope Delineation
10. Preparing design programmes, monitoring and reporting progress
11. Managing Deliverables/outputs
12. Managing Design Quality
13. Managing Design Budgets/Change
14. Managing Approvals
15. Organising Project Meetings & Design Workshops
16. Managing Design Coordination
Assist in the Management of the Design Management Team
17. Achieve AECOM PM accreditation, take active role in management of design projects in accordance with AECOM financial systems and processes.
18. Lead/Support Design Management projects across the UK and Internationally as appropriate.
19. Assist in the development of junior Design Management team members through mentoring, training and reviews.
20. Review work outputs from junior Design Management team members prior to issue to ensure quality and compliance with contractual obligations.
21. Support the Design Management team Leadership as required.

The jobholder will be expected to display a range of competencies, both behavioural and technical in undertaking the role. These are included in the Design Management Induction Plan and include areas such as:
22. Understanding of the design process.
23. Project and design programming skills.
24. Experience in development and implementation of design management tools and procedures.
25. Excellent communication skills.
26. Commercial awareness of projects.
27. Construction knowledge/experience.
28. Proficiency in MS Project/Excel/InDesign.
