Overview
Conventional machinist/turner. Due to further expansion, this growing business who specialise in the repair of rotating equipment including electric motors, pumps and gearboxes is seeking an experienced Conventional Turner/Machinist.
Responsibilities
* Conventional turning and milling using manual machinery.
* The use of conventional machines and other machines to manufacturer new parts.
* Working on small batch parts and taking responsibility of measuring worn or broken parts.
* Producing new parts taking into consideration bearing tolerances and machine threats.
* General bench fitting duties may be some of your responsibility.
* On call work - one in four.
* General repair of rotating machines, electric motors, pumps and gearboxes would be ideal.
Qualifications
* An experienced manual/conventional machinist/turner (NOT CNC).
* General bench fitting experience would be ideal.
* Must be available to be on call one week a month.
* Overtime available subject to workload.
* Experience of repairing rotating machines, electric motors, pumps & gearboxes would be ideal.
* Sound Engineering knowledge and a positive attitude.
* Flexibility, as overtime required often at short notice.
