Overview
For a professionally stretching and rewarding role in education system leadership, look no further than Haringey Council. Our ambitious new education strategy, Thriving Learners, builds confidently on the impressive achievements of recent years, and we believe we're well placed to continue getting even better. At the core of our vision is pupil experience, securing equity for all children and young people, excellent educational outcomes, maintaining high quality education provision and environments, and system sustainability. You'll be joining a strong, experienced team, with excellent partnerships in place, and a deep commitment to Haringey's children and young people.
Responsibilities
Our new Director will provide effective, inspiring and visible leadership to maintain and develop Haringey's already high-performing education service. You'll influence and steer a complex local education system so that we achieve our shared objectives: to improve the quality of teaching and learning, improve pupil outcomes, and narrow the gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. And as the lead client for our contract with Haringey Education Partnership, you'll ensure that schools and academies can access the highest quality of support, which then enables them to achieve the best outcomes for every learner.
Qualifications
Candidates will be experienced, credible and rounded education professionals, and you're likely to have gained school leadership experience at some point in your career to date. Able to operate effectively at both system and interpersonal level, you'll have the analytical and communications skills to handle contested or challenging situations with compassion and integrity. Financially astute, resilient and able to work at pace across a number of competing priorities, you'll be ready for this rich, varied and absorbing role as a 'leader of leaders' in Haringey.
