Role Profile: Materials Co-ordinator

Role Purpose
The Materials Co-ordinator plays a key role in managing the procurement and flow of components required to support installation projects. This position is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery, and maintaining accurate stock control. The role requires strong supplier engagement, effective coordination of logistics, and close collaboration with internal teams to meet project and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Procurement
Raise purchase orders for all component inventory.
Liaise with painters to coordinate PPC product requirements.
Track and manage purchase orders to align with project schedules.
Amend and update purchase orders as needed.Logistics
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Communicate with freight forwarders, couriers, and transport partners.
Manage customs documentation and ensure compliance for international shipments.
Optimise logistics routes and transportation costs while maintaining service standards.Inventory & Stock Control
Receipt incoming goods and ensure accurate documentation.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all inventory movements.
Support warehouse operations as required.
Manage incoming component orders from the blind partner, consolidate shipments, and ensure cost-effective delivery.Administration & Reporting
Produce quarterly reports covering purchasing, logistics activity, costs, and supplier performance.
Update the project planner spreadsheet upon receipt of goods.
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Understanding of supply chain processes and logistics operations.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Timely delivery of materials and goods aligned with project requirements.
Accuracy and reliability of inventory records.
