The Company Stamco Hoppings is an importing, manufacturing and wholesale distribution business that supplies a range of timber, boards and wood flooring products to timber and builders merchants, construction companies and a variety of manufacturers across a large area of the South of England. Stamco-Hoppings was formed in April 2022 when Hoppings Softwood Products Ltd business was acquired by The Sussex Turnery and Moulding Company (Stamco), this acquisition merged two established companies with very similar commercial principals, visions and goals. Stamco-Hoppings operates from three sites North and South of London, Hastings (Sussex), Epping (Essex) and Lingfield (Surrey) and we employ over 75 employees. Due to the continued success and expansion of our business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Machinist to join our team at Epping. The Role We have an opportunity to train to become a Wood Machinist at our depot in Epping, Essex. Job Responsibilities: Learning to operate wood-working machinery and tooling Learning how to operate all handling equipment Maintenance of stock and appropriate paperwork Maintaining a clean and safe environment Learn to operating Bandsaw and crosscuts Manual handling and stacking of Timber products Carrying out other tasks and duties as required We will provide on the job training for all aspects of this role Specific Experience & Skills Required Open to learn new skills Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of health and safety Flexibility to carry out a variety of roles An ability to prioritise your workload Punctual and reliable with a good work ethic The Hours 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm The Rewards Joining us means joining the leading and largest Independent Builders’ Merchant in the South of England.
