The Role at Scarborough Hill
Scarborough Hill Country Inn is a small family run boutique hotel with eight bedrooms and two cottages located on the outskirts of North Walsham. As a family-run boutique inn, the housekeeping team is the backbone of our reputation. You aren't just cleaning rooms; you are preparing a sanctuary for weary travelers, wedding guests, and diners. Because our building dates back to the 1500s, this role requires a "gentle touch" with historic features and a "sharp eye" for modern cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
* Room Turnarounds: Clean and sanitize guest bedrooms and en-suites to a 4-star standard within the "checkout-to-check-in" window (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM).
* The "Boutique" Finish: Ensure linens are bone-dry and crease-free, pillows are expertly plumped, and hospitality trays (tea/coffee) are neatly stocked.
* Public Area Care: Maintain the "wow factor" in our Georgian reception, oak-beamed bar, and dining rooms.
* Heritage Maintenance: Dusting intricate wood carvings, polishing brass, and ensuring period windows are smear-free.
* Linen Management: Assist with the sorting, washing, and folding of hotel laundry and towels.
* Guest Ambassadorship: Provide a friendly, local welcome if you encounter guests in the hallways or gardens.
What We Are Looking For
* A "Finisher": You don't stop until the room looks like a photograph. You notice the small things—a stray hair, a dusty baseboard, or a crooked picture frame.
* Trustworthy & Discrete: You will be working around guests' personal belongings and must maintain total professional integrity.
* Physical Resilience: You'll be on your feet, moving between floors, and handling vacuum cleaners and laundry bags.
* Punctuality: In a small hotel, the team relies on everyone showing up on time to get rooms ready for the next arrival.
Requirements
* Previous cleaning experience (Hotel, B&B, or Holiday Let experience is a major plus).
* Ability to work weekends and bank holidays (the busiest times for the Inn).
* Reliable transport to our location just outside North Walsham.

Hours and days are negotiable, however you must be able to work weekends.
