Behaviour Support Mentor Location: Chester le Street Working hours: 8:30am – 4pm (Monday to Friday) Contract type: Long term, immediate start Leader Education are seeking a committed and highly motivated Behaviour Support Mentor to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students presenting with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This specialist PRU provision supports young people who are at risk of, or have experienced, permanent exclusion from mainstream education, offering a structured and therapeutic approach to re-engagement in learning. The setting is underpinned by a collaborative and student-centred ethos, where staff work closely to provide a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment. Within this framework, students are supported to rebuild confidence, develop emotional resilience, and achieve sustained personal and academic progress. Provide both emotional and academic support to students as a Behaviour Support Mentor Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to deliver targeted 1:1 and small group support Support students in developing positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation skills Help build students’ confidence within the classroom and wider school environment Develop strong, professional, and trusting relationships with students Encourage increased engagement in learning and participation in school life Remain calm under pressure and effectively de-escalate challenging situations Contribute to each student’s long-term success and personal development Leader Education can offer: • Competitive pay rates • Refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme: £100 per referral (terms apply) • A dedicated consultant to answer any queries and for ongoing support • Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you!
