Hub Operations Controller (Systems & Yard)Location: Rugby HubShift: PM (22:00-06:00), any 5 days in 7 Join our fast-paced logistics hub as a Hub Operations Controller, where you’ll take real-time control of inbound, outbound and yard activity to keep the operation running safely, efficiently and on target. This is a hands-on, high-impact role at the centre of the hub, where you’ll use live systems and data to make quick decisions, manage flow and drive performance against KPIs and client SLAs. Working closely with operational teams and managers, you’ll play a key part in maximising throughput, solving problems as they happen and ensuring parcels keep moving in a dynamic PM shift environment. This is a hands-on, operational role where quick thinking, strong decision-making and clear communication are essential. You’ll work closely with operational teams and managers to manage flow, hit KPIs and deliver against customer and client SLAs — adapting quickly as priorities shift throughout the Night shift. Key responsibilities include: Managing and controlling Hub inbound and outbound functions using sorter and yard systems, with support from the Hub, Systems & Yard Manager Monitoring live system performance to ensure KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved Daily planning and control of inbound and outbound operations, including throughput, parcel presentation, productivity and CPU performance against budget Analysing performance reports and implementing improvement plans Producing key operational reports against forecast to support target delivery Ensuring efficient yard management, including correct trailer movements and full processing on bay Managing inbound and outbound gatehouse operations, ensuring compliance with procedures and supporting recruitment where required Controlling client SLAs, load presentation compliance, infeed and blockbuster targets, parcel presentation and product placement using sorter system data Essential Skills & Experience Extensive knowledge and experience of operational processes, particularly within hub operations Proven ability to build strong business understanding and translate it into effective working practices Ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced, pressurised environment Experience using internal systems and operational equipment A track record of leading and motivating high-performing teams Advanced Microsoft Excel skills If you thrive in a dynamic operational environment and want to play a key role in keeping one of the UK’s largest delivery networks moving, we’d love to hear from you.
