Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Network Architect to work within the Thames Valley Police Force.
Location: Kidlington (Thames Valley Police HQ)
Daily Rate: £650 per day outside of IR35
Contract End Date: May 2026 Temporary Contract
Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.40am to 5pm
Are you a visionary Network Architect with a passion for building robust and secure network infrastructures? Join our client in the public services sector and lead exciting projects that make a real difference! We are looking for a talented individual to provide expert technical leadership and design oversight across a variety of network infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Lead Network Design & Architecture: spearhead the design and implementation of complex network solutions that align with business and technical requirements. Provide critical oversight of third-party network designs, especially those utilising Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
* Design SD-WAN Solutions: design, deploy, and manage Fortinet SD-WAN environments, acting as the technical authority for evaluating third-party proposals.
* Support Cisco Infrastructure: deliver and support Cisco Catalyst Centre deployments while providing architectural guidance for third-party Cisco network designs.
* Enhance Network Security: apply expertise in network security protocols and firewall configurations, focusing on Fortinet and Cisco products to ensure robust security practices are embedded in all designs.
* Contribute to Procurement Processes: collaborate with procurement teams, developing technical requirements and specifications to support public sector tenders and contract renewals.
* Lead in Emergency Services Network (ESN/ESMCP): represent the organisation as the lead technical authority in national ESN/ESMCP programmes, providing strategic input for the transition from legacy TETRA Airwave systems to modern mobile communications platforms.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in network architecture and design, specifically with Cisco and Fortinet technologies.
* A strong background in SD-WAN, particularly with Fortinet solutions.
* Expertise in deploying and managing Cisco Catalyst Centres.
* In-depth knowledge of network security principles and firewall configurations.
* Experience in supporting public sector procurement and contract processes.
* Technical leadership experience in national communications programmes (ESN/ESMCP).
* Familiarity with legacy TETRA Airwave and ICCS systems.
