Locally Employed Doctor – Cardiology (ST3-5 Level)

This post is to promote the delivery of the Cardiology service and the GIM rota. The post can be based at either of our main sites and we have established patterns of cross site working.
This post will suit enthusiastic resident doctors looking to develop and use their skills in medicine and gain expertise in a cardiology. The post-holder will be part of a compliant 24/7 shift rota in medicine. They will be responsible for the continued delivery and further development of an already well-established service for patients living within the catchment area of the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and surrounding areas and will be working under consultant supervision.
The post is to cover maternity leave and will be for a maximum period of 6 months, or until 31st August 2026.

Main duties of the job
Key duties of the post include:
* Managing a whole spectrum of emergency patients
* Assistance and supervision of the F1, F2 and GP VTS doctors with the management of patients.
* Strengthening the delivery of a high quality General and Emergency Medicine service across the hospital and community.
* Developing further links between Emergency medicine and medicine
* Developing innovative practices in clinical patient management, focusing on high quality care.
* Developing a subspecialty interest.
* Teaching and training undergraduates as well as postgraduates
* Quality assurance of the service and individual practice
* The rota pattern is a full shift with appropriate remuneration. All rotas comply with the 2016 Training Doctor contract and EWTD.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* MBChB/MBBS or equivalent
* Completion of Core Training or equivalent within Specialty Medicine
* Applicants must have full GMC registration and continue to hold a License to Practice
Experience and Achievements
* Must be able to demonstrate clinical experience and competence in GIM expected of a doctor at ST3 - ST5
* A minimum of 12 months experience in Cardiology at ST3 or above level that is demonstrated by evidence
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinions on a range of problems within Cardiology and to support the Resident Doctors, colleagues and nursing staff within the team.
* Competent in cardiology procedural skills relevant to the level of the post
* Ability and willingness to learn from colleagues, senior and other sources.
Teaching, Training, Audit & Research
* Knowledge of Audit principles and evidence of participation in and completion of audit projects
Practical/Intellectual Skills/Personal Qualities
* Evidence of continual learning and development
General
* Eligibility to work in the UK
