Are you passionate about helping people recover from substance misuse?
Do you wish to develop your experience working in the criminal justice system?
We have an opportunity to join the Matthew Project as a Recovery Worker in our criminal justice team. You will play a key role in a multi-agency project, collaborating with colleagues from statutory and voluntary sectors to engage individuals in making demonstrable changes towards recovery and driving positive health and crime-related outcomes. The overall aim of the project is to reduce substance-related deaths and offending in Norfolk.
You will be part of an intensive, whole-system approach to tackling substance misuse, providing support in the community, delivering one-to-one and group sessions at our Norwich Centre, partner agency offices, and other venues. Proactive and assertive outreach support will be required, along with supporting the development of our recovery community. The ability to travel is essential.
The Matthew Project is a values-driven charity working across Norfolk, offering help and hope through programs for adults, young people, and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. Our vision is to reach every part of the community in creative, effective, and efficient ways. Our services include professional advice, information, coaching, support, care, and education.
Our values and ethos originate from a Christian perspective. We seek to employ people of all backgrounds who respect and align with those values, whether from a faith-based or secular perspective.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
