Job Description:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring all plant equipment and machinery operate efficiently with minimal downtime while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Responding to equipment breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Diagnosing faults using root cause analysis techniques
Working collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams
Maintaining accurate technical reports and work orders
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Managing spare parts and liaising with suppliers/vendors
Additional responsibilities (Tier 4):
Leading training and development of team members
Analysing maintenance data to identify trends and improvements
Modifying maintenance schedules and implementing condition-based monitoring
Supporting audits and driving continuous improvement projects
Acting as a leader within the team and stepping in for management when required
Skills & Experience:
Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
Experience with fault finding, repair, and reading technical schematics
Knowledge of pneumatics, robotics, and PLC systems
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot automation systems
Engineering qualification (HNC, NVQ Level 4, or equivalent)
Additional for Tier 4:
Leadership experience
Ability to create and modify PLC programs
Experience with advanced/cleanroom equipment (desirable)
Project management experience (small-scale projects)
