About the role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced PSV Electrician to join our engineering team. This role involves maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems on Public Service Vehicles (PSVs), ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards.
Key responsibilities
* Carry out electrical diagnostics, fault finding, and repairs on PSV vehicles
* Maintain and repair electrical systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, and control systems
* Perform scheduled maintenance inspections in line with company and DVSA standards
* Work on modern vehicle systems including CAN bus and multiplex wiring
* Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
* Complete job cards, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately
* Assist in breakdown response and on-road repairs when required
* Collaborate with the wider engineering team to meet fleet availability targets
Requirements
* Proven experience as an electrician, ideally within PSV, HGV, or automotive environments
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Knowledge of modern vehicle electrical systems (CAN bus experience desirable)
* Relevant qualifications in vehicle maintenance or electrical engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexible approach to working shifts, including weekends
* Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
