Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a vital member of our restaurant, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining consistency and presentation standards
* Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise kitchen operations
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times
* Support staff training programmes to uphold high standards of food safety and service excellence
* Contribute to creating innovative menu items that reflect current culinary trends
Skills
* Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
* Extensive food production and culinary expertise, including food preparation and cooking techniques
* Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
* Good understanding of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer service standards
* Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
* Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
