We are seeking a motivated and proactive Health & Safety Support Advisor to help drive the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of our Group Health & Safety Management System across all locations. In this hands-on role, you will work closely with site teams to support day to day operations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal standards. You will play a key part in building strong safety culture through engagement, on-site visibility, and high-quality data management. The role will report to the Group Health & Safety Manager and work closely with Group Health & Safety Advisors. The role will be primarily based in the Dunman site, Cookstown, supporting the H&S Advisor at Dunman, Cookstown. The role will require regular travel to the Ash Manor site, Wrexham, Wales. It is foreseen that the person would work from Wrexham 2 days per month (1 trip). Further support will be provided remotely. The person will be required to spend time at other group locations as appropriate. This position is ideal for someone at the early stage of their Health & Safety career who is passionate about developing their knowledge and progressing their career. What youll be doing: Site Engagement & Presence Carry out regular safety walks with supervisors and managers Promote hazard reporting and positive safety behaviours Support toolbox talks and safety briefings Assist in delivering safety campaigns and initiatives Provide guidance to employees on basic safety procedures and rules Monitoring & Inspections Complete planned safety inspections and record findings Monitor workplace conditions and escalate risks where necessary Support internal audits and compliance checks Track corrective actions and follow up overdue items Observe high-risk activities (LOTO, confined space, hot work, work at height) and report concerns Incident & Near Miss Management Assist with accident and near miss investigations Gather statements, photographs and evidence Ensure incidents are correctly categorised in the H&S system Monitor investigation quality and outstanding actions Identify recurring trends and raise to H&S Advisors Risk Assessments & Documentation Support departments in reviewing risk assessments Help transfer risk assessments into company formats/systems Assist in maintaining Safe Systems of Work Support COSHH assessments and chemical registers Maintain statutory inspection and safety registers Training & Competency Support Maintain training matrices and records Monitor LMS completion and notify managers of gaps Arrange training sessions and bookings Deliver basic awareness training once competent Support inductions and contractor briefings Systems & Administration Maintain accuracy of the H&S management system Upload inspections, actions and documentation Produce basic reports and statistics Maintain noticeboards and site safety communications Support preparation of monthly H&S meetings Emergency & Compliance Support Support emergency drills and evacuations Check first aid and emergency equipment Assist with contractor safety compliance Support legal compliance tracking activities Key Relationships Site Managers & Supervisors Production & Maintenance Teams Contractors & Visitors HR & Training Teams Group H&S Team What we are looking for: Essential Criteria NEBOSH General Certificate Proven experience of developing good team and cross functional relationships Demonstrative experience of carrying out risk assessments Be computer literate & fully competent in Microsoft Office, Excel Demonstrative ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks as necessary Full driving licence Desirable Critera Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role preferably within food manufacturing.
