Are you passionate about international logistics and movements? As part of a support team to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), based in Ruislip, you will be collaborating within a team comprising of both military and civilian members. Together, you will organise the movement of the personal property of military personnel arriving in and leaving the UK and, additionally, various military supplies. This could be anything from a sofa or a car to uniform or tools
What will you be doing?
* Coordinating and liaising, via telephone or email, with various government agencies, commercial transportation/shipping agents and contractors and maintaining accurate documentation and electronic records throughout the process.
* Providing recommendations to ensure a smooth and compliant logistical process is achieved.
* Monitoring and tracing the progress of shipments, including international customs clearances (import/export) and shipping requirements.
* Providing regular progress updates to recipients (consignees), so they are kept in the loop about timelines and potential delays or potential issues.
* Updating records when shipments (consignments) arrive and are handed over to their 'recipient' (consignee).
* Greeting in-person visitors to the office as required.

2. If your country of citizenship has compulsory military service (conscription) for its citizens, you must have completed your compulsory military service (conscription) as per your country of citizenship's legislation. If your country of citizenship does not have compulsory military service (conscription) for its citizens, this requirement is not relevant for you.
3. You must be willing to provide the required documentation in order to obtain 'reliability status'.
4. You must be willing to undergo a background investigation in order to obtain a valid security clearance certificate from your own NATO country (if required for the specific position).
5. You must be able to obtain and maintain a Vulnerable Sector Check
OPERATIONAL & ORGANISATIONAL NEEDS
1. Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position, and maintain the relevant certification throughout the duration of employment.
2. For operational or unforeseen business reasons, employees must be willing and able to work from home if requested to do so. However, this position is office based.
THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA IS CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL*
Education:
· Completion of secondary education or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience is defined as two years' secondary education and experience, usually gained over two years, working in an office environment.
Language:
· Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
Experience:
· Experience providing client service.
· Experience using Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, and Access).
· Experience providing administrative support services in an office environment.

THE FOLLOWING 'ASSET CRITERIA' ARE CONSIDERED DESIRABLE**
· Experience in providing contracting and procurement support services.
· Experience working in the logistics industry dealing with shipping and receiving international freight (imports and exports) and preparing bills of loading.
· Experience performing Quality Control Inspections.
**Evidencing how you meet the 'asset criteria' will add further value to your application.
