Purchasing Administrator Your new company Hays are working with a reputable business based in Shrewsbury who are looking to recruit a Purchasing Administrator who will support the procurement function by processing purchase orders, maintaining supplier information, tracking deliveries, and ensuring efficient administrative control of all purchasing activities. The role requires someone organised, accurate, and able to start immediately to provide essential operational support. Your new role As Purchasing Administrator your role will involve: Purchase Order & Supplier Administration. Raise purchase orders accurately and in line with company procedures. Update ERP/purchasing systems with pricing, lead times, and order confirmations. Maintain supplier records and documentation. Follow up with suppliers on delivery dates, order updates, and outstanding items. Track inbound deliveries and update internal teams. Follow up on delays, shortages, or discrepancies. Process goods received notes and match PO documentation. Manage purchasing inbox and respond to internal and supplier queries. File and maintain purchasing documentation. Support the Purchasing Manager with reporting and data tasks. Assist with price checks, quotations, and supplier comparisons. Liaise with warehouse, production, accounts, and suppliers. Support invoice resolution (price mismatches, missing PO numbers, etc.) Ensure all purchasing data is accurate for finance and stock control purposes. Strong organisational and administrative skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Confident communicator (email and phone). Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Good problem-solving and follow-up skills. Proactive, reliable, and able to take initiative. Strong IT skills (Excel, ERP systems, email platforms).
