Full Job Description
We are seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Glebedale School, Staffordshire. The role involves working collaboratively with the education team to deliver bespoke speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for pupils who may have developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs.
Location: Glebedale School – Staffordshire ST4 3AY
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)
Hours: 15 hours per week (to be confirmed)
Contract: Fixed‑Term (Maternity Cover)
Key responsibilities include:
* Conducting speech and language assessments and developing individualized intervention plans.
* Providing clinical supervision and training to junior staff.
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support pupils’ educational progress.
* Engaging with families and carers to discuss therapeutic strategies.
* Maintaining up‑to‑date clinical records and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
* Valid and up to date HCPC registration
* Registered member of RCSLT
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a specialist speech and language therapist in a similar setting
* Strong clinical knowledge and experience with diverse communication profiles and complex needs
* Demonstrated experience in multi‑disciplinary working and service delivery
* Experience in communicating with families and carers
* Experience in delivering training and providing clinical supervision
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Strong time‑management and organisational skills
* In-depth knowledge of SaLT practice and RCSLT communication standards
* Good understanding of neurodivergence, learning disability and trauma‑informed practices
* Proficiency with SaLT assessment tools and evidence‑based interventions
* Knowledge of legislation and its impact on clinical practice
